WEG was such a mixed bag of emotions. Black Tie did a good dressage test, but struggled with the ground on the cross country – he hates slippery conditions and the weather had been awful.
After a couple of stops where he simply couldn’t get the stride in a combination, Oliver pulled up saying: “He tried his heart out for me. He wasn’t being naughty, it just wasn’t our day. But I have a sound, healthy horse back at home – with the awful loss of Wild Lone, I consider myself really lucky.”
