Oliver bagged his fourth Kentucky 5* win, riding Paul and Diana Ridgeon’s 10-year-old Cooley Rosalent. A slightly disappointing dressage test left the pair back in eighth place. However Rosie stormed around the cross-country, coming home just one second over the optimum time, climbing up to third place going in to the final phase.
There wasn’t a rail between the top three, so when Rosie showjumped clear the pressure was on. Both Yasmin Ingham and Tom McEwen had a fence apiece and the title was Oliver’s.
